Scruffy Arms was started by Joe Miller, a U.S. Army veteran who served as a Forward Observer and Targeting Officer. As part of his service, he attended the U.S. Army Armorer’s course and was trained on all the basic military weapon systems. But his interest in firearms started long before the military - as a young kid, he learned how to assemble and disassemble a Colt 1911. From that time on his passion for firearms was ignited. Despite already having a wealth of firearms experience, he also attended the Sonoran Desert Institute for a few classes on specialties such as Kydex and ballistics. He is a former expert marksman and strives to make every rifle as accurate as possible to meet your needs.

He’s also has served as an Executive Director of a non-profit organization that supports veterans; giving back is one of the greatest priorities in his life.
